Snow Storm Enzo 2025 in Downtown DFS
DeFuniak Springs and much of the Gulf Coast from New Orleans to Pensacola experienced a once-in-a-lifetime snowstorm on January 21, 2025. Winter Storm Enzo brought more than 5 inches to the DeFuniak Springs area in less than 12 hours, and overnight temperatures reached 15 degrees. Residents were surprised and amazed at the sight of so much snow. "The last time I saw snow here was when I was 6," says native Chautauquian Wanda Brannon, "but not as much as now." Other residents remember a couple of inches in 1995, but Enzo brought more than twice as much in just a few hours.
